Teaching the Next Generation @ St Vincent Mission - Gary Mitchell

Our gardeners are doing a great job! We have been seeing some great gardens as we stop by and visit. The gardens are growing well. Some  are already enjoying the fruit of their labor as they have harvested some of the early crops. Our gardeners are also sharing what they produce with family and friends.
It is good to see that our gardeners are teaching their children and grandchildren what gardening is all about. The picture is of Ryan's (about 7 years old) garden, he did most of the work himself. Way to go!

Grandparents are teaching their grandchildren. Below is a picture of Joanne teaching her grandchildren about gardening.

If we don't teach the next generations how to grow their own food, gardening will be a lost skill. May we continue helping our youth to see the value and fun of gardening.
